Let’s start at the beggining.
This picture was taken at the pound in April 2010 the day Nina came into my life. I had wanted a dog for a few years when a friend of mine asked me to go with her to a shelter where she wanted to adopt a cat. I knew, going there the chances of me coming back with no pup were slim. As my friend was browsing the kitties I told her I was just gonna take a “quick look” at the doggies for adoption… Nina was the first one I saw when I opened the door to the dog section, and it was love at first sight. She was so tiny in her big cage… all the other dogs were barking and jumping for attention while she was just there shivering way in the back of her cage… silently. When I opened the door to her crate, she came alive! She ran out and went straight for my feet, sat next to me and stared at me with those beautiful look-how-cute-I-am-please-take-me-home puppy eyes. Of course I couldn’t resist. She came home with me that night and it’s been a love story ever since.
